The -dere type

Hi, it's been a while since i write the last post in this blog

I have a mid-term exam this week, so i'm kinda busy to catch up with everything... XD

Oke, so let's get to the point.. :)

The first time i join in an anime/otaku forum i read so many terms used there, start from tsundere, yandere, dandere, and many many more, and it feels like "what the fuck is this?"

Many terms invented by the fans to represent a character's personality, usually female character.

At first i think it's something useless, but at some point i think it's fun to talk about it... :)

1. Tsundere

Tsundere is an abbreviation from the terms tsun-tsun (grumpy, hot-blooded) and dere-dere (lovely, lovestruck). Let's say that tsundere is a type of person that suffer "love in denial", usually this character will try very hard to "cover" her true feelings, therefore she acts like she hates you, but in fact she's not.

She wants your attention, but she always try to avoid you. She likes you, but she hates you.

"Playing" with tsundere is like hide and seek, but once you get her, she will shows her dere-dere. :)

2. Yandere

Yandere is an abbreviation of yanderu (mental disorder) and dere-dere. In easy way, we called it psycho or over-obsessed with someone. This character looks so lovely in the first, but after that she will shows her true nature, violent and brutal.

This character doesn't hesitate to harm another people that try to approach someone that she loves, and even she could harm people that she loves if she feels betrayed, and torture herself if the person she loves feels disappointed by herself.

The good point of this character is she is very loyal to the person she loves.

3. Dandere

Is an abbreviation of danmari (silence, quiet) and dere-dere.

Yeah you got it, it's a quiet type character, looks like robot-character, doesn't talk too much, and have flat expressions. Actually dandere is a condition where a taciturn meets someone she likes, and react out of the expectations like blushing or suddenly become inconsequent.

4. Kuudere

It's pretty hard too differentiate kuudere from tsundere or dandere. Kuudere comes from the words cool.

In engrish (japanese english) it sound kuu. If dandere have no expressions, kuudere sometimes show her expressions. Kuudere talk a little and can maintain their image. They have cold sharp gaze.

While tsundere looks like a childish character that deny and/or cannot recognize their true feelings, kuudere understand their feeling for sure, they have more mature image. Kuudere type doesn't deny her feelings, they do have emotions, i think they just cool... XD
